Right or Wrong?

Russ and I had an interesting conversation after bible class last night. We were talking about my blog and in the middle of a statement, the guy we were talking to said something to the effect of "we need to be open, like how you are on your blog, right or wrong..." What? Right or wrong? I didn't say anything then, but last night and today, I keep going over that in my mind. I never even thought that blogging could be considered "wrong." Is it the way I am comfortable telling the internet my most personal life details, but that I don't feel comfortable telling them to people face to face, especially people from the church? That is the only thing I can think of that would make this wrong. Well, I obviously don't subscribe to the feelings that blogging is wrong since I'm blogging about it. But, I just wanted to make some things clear. I blog because I am not an open person in real life. This is a stress release for me. It's therapuetic to be able to write down your feelings and events that take place in your life and to be able to get comments back from people that may be going through the same things as you. I am a person that will bottle up emotions and let them stew until I blow up like a bomb. This isn't true with everything, just the harder things in life. I am honest and open about the small stuff. So I've been really working at helping myself to manage my emotions better and blogging is one way I do that. It really does help and that's what makes it "right" for me.

BTW, if you think my blog is open and depressing, you should see my journal!

Okay, I love your blog! I think we're at a similar place IF wise. I just had my first cycle of clomid/trigger/timed intercourse. I'm gonna give it a shot (ha) for a few more months.
And I also love to decorate cakes, but can't do as good of a job as you did with Strawberry shortcake!

What was right or wrong? Your blog? Are you kidding me? NOBODY can decide what is right and wrong except you know Who. One of my favorite bible verses is Matt 7:1

I don't think it's wrong at all to blog. People have their own way of dealing with stress, and writing has always been known as one of the best stress busters.

When people have never had a "crisis" or stress situation in their life, and things come easy, it's very easy for them to judge right, wrong etc. I would ask that guy from your church what he would do if he and his wife were in yours and Russ's shoes.

That said - I love your blog, and read it everyday!

I love your blog too!!

This is something I struggle with. My hubby thinks blogging is vain and too self-centered focused. Especially with infertility, he's worried that you just dwell and idolize children. There are several families/people in church who blog and hubby cannot understand "why they need to share that information with the world". This makes me a little depressed, but I can semi-see his point. Even still -- I called him on his sin: judging others actions.

Mt 7:3-5 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

He was upset about that but then realized his own sin in the situation...

BUT -- that is one of the big reasons I have an anonymous blog. Hubby doesn't necessarily want other people (irl) knowing our business and kids being able to one day find out all this info.

However, he totally agrees that I've been hugely motivated, inspired, lifted up, etc. by meeting people like you and other bloggers. He understands the need to put your thoughts down on paper... especially since I'm not one to talk about it with friends and then it would just fester. But I am more self-concious about what I write and make a concious effort to honor God through words.

I pray that you will find the confort that only HE will provide.
