Apparently, Chloe Jo has decided that she is not interested in breastfeeding at all anymore. She refused a couple of times last night and has refused every time I've offered today. I am so sad that she has weaned herself (in a way...in another way it's one less thing I have to worry about!). About a month and a half ago she had decided that she didn't want to nurse all the time like she had been doing. She went down to 3 times a day and was happy with that. I couldn't get her to take a bottle or anything so I was concerned that she wasn't getting enough milk. Her pediatrician didn't share my concern so I hadn't been worrying about it. Last night she completely refused and it didn't matter what I did she was not going to nurse. Same thing this morning. I even tried to let her cry it out and see if she would nurse when she got hungry enough. Nope. That didn't work, either. I've offered several times today and nothing. So I guess I'm not breastfeeding anymore. I can't pump enough to even make that worth it so I'm going to call it quits. When I realized that this was probably going to be it, I cried...like bawled. I'm so sad that she doesn't want this special time anymore. I know there will be more special times between us, but it will be a different special. I called the pediatrician and asked for formula recommendations and asked how much I should give her each day so I have to go to the store and buy the formula tonight. *Tear*

So sorry - it can be hard for sure! Also, be sure to sign up with the formula companies to get coupons in the mail!
I'm sorry. That sounds so hard. You gave her a great gift by breastfeeding as long as yuou did. It's natural to wean.
I sometimes wish Boo would decide to wean. I think we'll be BFing forever...
I am going through the EXACT same thing! My daughter is 6 1/2 months and in this last month or so has slowed to nursing about 3-4 times a day, then went to in the morning and night....now those are going away! I am a wreck about it! I never thought I would be so emotional about it at all! And your right, pumping is not worth it because my supply is so low I am not getting nearly what I use to when she was solely bf with no table food. So as of right now she is nursing in the morning but only for like 10 min and right before she goes to sleep at night occasionally! Thinking it is time to go get some formula!! *tear* She seems to busy, she must see everything that is going on. It's like she doesn't want to miss anything!! lol! Good luck to you!!!!
Sorry Lisa. That has got to be hard, I did not BF. I've heard and read from other mommy's, it's truly special bonding time. Big Hugs to you - and Congrats for doing it this long. Your right more, special times will come... Keep strong, and just know your doing the best you can! Thinking of you.
