6 Month Check-Up

Chloe Jo had her 6 month check-up this morning. I knew her stats weren't going to change much, but I was still surprised by how small she is.

Her length is 25 inches.
This is what surprised me the most. She has now dropped down into the 25th percentile. She was in the 50th percentile 2 months ago.
Her weight is 13 pounds 14 1/2 ounces.

She has dropped into the 10th percentile for weight.
Her head circumference is 40 1/2 centimeters and I didn't ask what percentile she is in for that. It was 10th at her last appointment and I looked up the CDC's growth charts and it indicated that she is now in the 5th percentile.
Chloe Jo's pediatrician is not concerned about any of this yet. She said that most babies start leveling off more around this time. Also since Chloe Jo is not interested in nursing as much anymore then that is the reason for her weight percentile going down so much. Since she is still growing it is fine. We will wait until her 9 month appointment and if her percentiles are still going down then we can look into it more then. Apparently, she is just a small baby. All of her other development is right on schedule.
All in all, it was a good appointment. We are so blessed to have this healthy baby girl in our lives!

Wow can't believe shes 6 months already. WOw just think last year she was still growing in the tummy, Time really does fly and its happening right before our eyes.

Chloe looks healthy and liek any mornal 6 month old so Im glad your not worrying. Some kids are just smaller. What size clothes does Chloe wear?

She wears 3-6 month mostly. She actually does have a couple of pairs of pants that are 0-3 that still fit, though! 6-9 pants are way too big, but I have begun putting the shirts and onesies on her some.

Sounds like she is doing great! My son is now two and a half, but has always been small for his age--but perfectly healthy. Between his 6- and 9-month checkups, he only gained a few ounces, and I was completely freaked out. The pediatrician said that his weight gain would slow down as activity level increased and his growth lengthwise also increased. He's just built like his dad (lucky for him! lol).

Oh--you can also look at the growth charts specifically for breastfed babies (if your pediatrician didn't differentiate). That was very helpful to me, since formula-fed babies tend to be heavier (and therefore harder for breastfed babies to "compete" with on the same charts).

Congratulations on six months!

Sorry to post again--I forgot to say earlier that Thomas weighed not quite 16 lbs at 12 months.

That sweet baby is just ADORABLE! I do love the headbands and bows she wears - I know you have done a post about them before...have you started making the headbands or do you buy them?

Katie was in the 5-10 percentile for weight at 4 months. That was down from the 25th at 2 weeks and 2 months....we must have little girls for sure! I am curious to know what Katie's stats are now since she's been doing cereal and more formula. We got Oct 29 for her 6 mo appt.

I still need to give you the websites I use for coupon shopping. I won't forget!
