Yesterday Chloe Jo and I were getting ready to go get groceries and I dressed her in this little outfit. I told her she is "bootiful and soooooo cuut." Yes, I still use baby talk some. And yes, I realize that that might be the reason she didn't talk until last week! Anyway, she must have really liked her outfit because she followed me into my room and stood in front of the closet and gave me the cutest grin she could. She obviously wanted me to take her picture!
Ingredients:
4 Cups Borax (the brand is 20 Mule Team and you can find this in the laundry aisle in your grocery store. I had no trouble finding it in 3 grocery stores in our town of 6,000 people)
4 Cups Washing Soda (The brand is Arm & Hammer. This is NOT baking soda {totally different}. I had a lot of trouble finding this. My friend said that she gets it at Wal-Mart. I had to special order mine from Ace Hardware. Some grocery stores carry it, not Food Lion, though.)
2 bars of Zote laundry soap (You can also use Fels Naptha or Ivory. This was in the laundry aisle of two of our grocery stores. I didn't find the Fels Naptha anywhere.)
1 container to store the detergent
If you have a hard time finding these ingredients, they are sold on Amazon.com.
The first thing I did was measure out the borax and washing soda and put them into the clear container. Then I grated both bars of Zote (the picture has 3 bars, but I only used 2). I used the smallest grater I had.
To mix the detergent, I originally just put the ingredients in the container I'm using to store it in and then shook it up. That actually didn't work like I wanted it to. The powder mixed fine, but the soap didn't want to mix in with the powder. I ended up putting it in a large bowl and stirring it and that worked much better.
After I mixed the detergent I put it back in the storage container, put a tablespoon for measuring in it and put the lid on it. I'm so excited to try this out! I'll put an update on here after I use it.
The photographer enticed Chloe Jo to sit in the chair by giving her this bear. She knew I didn't want the props, but it was just a way to get her to do what we wanted. You can tell she wasn't thrilled with getting her pictures taken, but she gave us a few grins and a few very sweet pictures.

I brought her new favorite toy with us to entice her to smile more. She got this slinky at the doctor's last week.

Daddy's preachers meeting was over 2 hours long! If you've never talked to a preacher, they are long winded! Add to it that there were about 30 men there (preachers, elders, deacons and members) and you'll have a very long meeting! While Daddy was doing his thang in the meeting, Chloe Jo and I went window shopping and eventually found a park to play at.
Isn't she the sweetest little girl! After we picked up Daddy from the meeting, we went to eat at Fuddrucker's. Fudd's is my favorite hamburger joint and there isn't one closer than 2 hours away. Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

This is a man-eating armadillo. So glad we didn't see these when we lived in the Midwest. The normal sized ones are bad enough!

Spaceman and Chloe Jo. She didn't really know what to think of most of the museum. Of course, it was nap time and she was getting tired.
Chloe Jo's favorite part of the museum was this "hands-on" area. She laughed and giggled through the whole section...and laughed and giggled loudly. As in, I'm sure the whole floor could hear her! I'm just glad that she enjoyed it so much.
She especially loved this floating beach ball. We watched this for several minutes.
Russ was really excited when he saw that I had multiplied! He really would love to have 100 of me. No, really! Why don't you believe me???

Huge airplace hanging from the ceiling. The windows on the right side of the pictre are for a glass elevator. Chloe Jo thought that was pretty neat.
I loved this display. There was a sensor that started everything when we stepped in front of it. So cool!

Russ was exceptionally glad to say he didn't have to go through preaching school at a desk like this. Poor guy was way too big anyway!
This was the last exhibit we went through. Bones are neat. The other exhibits were neater.
We have a beautiful State House. I love how grand and stately these buildings usually look.

This is the second floor lobby area. The staircases lead to the third floor where there are doors to the balconies for the house of reps and the senate rooms. I think it would be very interesting to be able to go for a meeting and get to see it happen.
