I know you all are scratching your heads wondering what is exciting about a bill. I received a bill in the mail on Saturday from my fertility doctor's office. I had been expecting it for a couple weeks now. Happy Holidays to me, right!?! Well, I opened it up and my balance was $1,688.25. After I had the small conniption (I actually wasn't expecting it to be that high) and cried a little bit I started thinking about how we were going to pay all that. I put it in my purse so I could think about it another day...just like Scarlett. I do want to say that even though the financial aspect of this pregnancy is very stressful, I wouldn't exchange it for anything. Logan is so worth it and I don't want to come off sounding ungrateful. We are blessed and I know that. This morning, I got out the bill and started looking at it and noticed that I was charged too much for two of my ultrasounds. Score one for me! I'm glad I actually look at bills instead of just paying them! My doctor charges insurance companies $350.00 for an ultrasound, but if you pay out of pocket, they only charge $150.00. Does that seem odd to anyone? I've never figured out how that is fair to the insurance company (Ack! What am I saying!?!?!). Which, incidentally, makes insurance covered ultrasounds $108.00...only $42.00 less than non-covered ultrasounds. Moving on. So, I called up the clinic to speak to billing...AGAIN. To my surprise, she said there were four ultrasounds that needed to be changed. SCORE AGAIN! After all was said and done, I ended up only owing $888.25. I'm so excited and I can't seem to wipe the smile off my face. Also, I'm paid up with them. I don't have to deal with them anymore...until we decide to try for a sibling for Logan.
Fo' Shizzle, ya'll!

Good job! That's awesome.
I just paid my dental bill once (for my wisdom teeth removal), and then found out that insurance covered EVERYTHING. It was sweet!
