I know I haven't done a Music Monday in forever, but I was driving today and I heard this new Big & Rich song and had to share. I think I may love it. :)

I'm loving that my Dad is coming tomorrow to stay with us so he can fly to Costa Rica on Friday for a mission trip. While he is gone, Chloe Jo and I are going to go stay with my Mom for a few days. Should be a fun time!

I'm loving Chloe Jo's new haircut! I think she is so cute with a bob!
Although I'm a little sad I can't braid her pigtails anymore. :(

I'm loving the new recipes I've tried this week!

Zucchini Crisp
Fresh Corn Salad

I'm loving the fun things Chloe Jo has been getting to do lately!
She is obsessed with this bubble gun!

I'm loving that I finally dumped all the pictures from my phone onto my computer. It was almost 2 years worth of pictures and they were fun to go through! Here are a few favorites!

Love this one! So true!

I have seen THREE  old college friends this week. One of them I hadn't seen in about three years and the other two I hadn't seen in over ten! I love seeing old friends!

I was looking for this picture the other day to show my sister and I came across so many hilarious pins about Neville! Love them!

That's it for this fine Wednesday!

I hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday!

My poor baby is sick today so it's not so great for her.

My Recipe Box: Blueberry Muffins

Are you all about tired of me talking about these silly blueberry muffins yet? I know this is at least the 3rd post I've mentioned them in. Oops.

Good news: I have been trying several new recipes lately and they have all been hits so far. I will be sharing more soon!

Blueberry Muffins

Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 pint fresh blueberries - rinsed, drained and patted dry
2 tablespoons white sugar

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray the top of a muffin pan with non-stick coating and line with paper liners.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, 1 1/4 cups sugar and salt until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Mix together 1 3/4 cup of the flour and baking powder. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk, mixing just until incorporated. Crush 1/4 of the blueberries and stir into the batter. Mix the rest of the blueberries with the remaining 1/4 cup of flour and fold into the batter. Scoop into muffin cups. Sprinkle tops lightly with sugar.

3. Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown and tops spring back when lightly tapped.

Enjoy!

Naughty Girl

My sweet, precious daughter...
...has a naughty streak the size of the Mississippi.

The past few weeks have just been rough.

As in, she has embarrassed me in several restaurants and stores lately.

Today in the Wall-to-Wall Mart, she wanted something as we were leaving and I said no so she started throwing a horrific temper tantrum.

I don't get it because I NEVER let her have her way when she is acting like that. Plus, she knows there are consequences to those actions that she does not like at all. She is just so stubborn.

Nothing like me...nothing at all.

Ok, Chelle and Dad, you can stop laughing..

Anytime now.

Another thing that has really started bothering me lately is that she always, without fail, says "I don't yike dat" about what I make for supper.

Mom, I get it now. I'm sorry I ever said that to you.

I just keep telling myself that this too shall pass. It is just a phase and she will grow out of it.

Right?

RIGHT?!?

RIGHT!?!?!?!?

P.S. Is she not the cutest thing with an adorable bob?

SUYL: Kids Rooms

Today I'm linking up with Kelly's Korner for Show Us Your Life Friday!

The theme for today is Kids Rooms and Nurseries.

We are so excited about how Chloe Jo's room turned out! I had a specific vision for it and it came together great!

The best part is that she loves it, too. She will show her room to anybody and everybody that comes over!

I asked her what color she wanted her room and she said "Pink!" I then asked her what color her stripes should be and she said "Pink and pink!" I tried to talk her into a key lime green, but she was having none of it. HA! My little girly girl!

This is her room as you walk into the door. I love the plate that Russ' Mom gave me after she was born. That verse is one of my favorites.
I think the striped wall came out so much better than I even imagined. It is perfect for a little girls room and I think it would precious in blues for a little boy, too. Maybe one day.
I made the mobile while we were living in South Carolina and it travelled well. I also made the cross stitch a long time before I got pregnant in anticipation of a future baby. It is so special to me and I hope it will be special to her when she is older.
This is on the wall with her closet. I always want her to know whose child she truly is. We are just borrowing her.
I made her bow holder (and my, oh my, is it full!), the quilt that is draped over her dresser and the flower bouquet on her dresser. My Dad made the dresser and the adorable kitchen.
I'm so thrilled with how her room came out. I think it is perfect for a sweet little girl!

Busy, but productive!

Whew, ya'll! I have had an insane, but soooo productive day! I only left the house once to go to the post office and Dollar General. The rest of the time I have been getting things done around the house that I had to put off because of our VBS week.

First thing this morning, I started working on the guest/craft room. I bought a cork board yesterday and hung that up about my craft table. I'm looking forward to pinning ideas and undone projects up!
A while back I pinned a few pictures of walls with embroidery hoops and fabric on my pinterest. I knew I wanted to use the idea for my craft room. I've been collecting the embroidery hoops since we moved in and I drew up a diagram of where I wanted them all to go this morning. While I had to change up the diagram a bit when I actually started hanging the hoops, I love the finished wall! I do have 2 hoops that don't have anything in them. My mom is finishing a lavender and white quilt for the guest bedroom and she is going to see if she has any scraps from it that are big enough.
I went ahead and hung the curtains, but I have to take them down to get the wrinkles out still. Actually, all the curtains in the house need to be ironed. I guess that will be a project for tomorrow.
I am still wanting to get some letters that spell "CREATE" for the top of my shelf.
And just because organization is a love of mine, here is my craft room closet. Love all the space!
After finishing what I could in the craft/guest room I hung up the curtains I found for the master bedroom. I know they are plain, but I love them! Curtains just make it so much more homey! I just need to do the headboard to finish up our bedroom. I still need to finish the master bathroom, but I'm not worrying about that at all right now.
This afternoon, while Chloe Jo took her nap, I tried mixing up the green paint for our living room again. I have mixed and remixed and mixed paint about a bazillion times trying to match the color since Lowe's didn't do very good. Today's try still wasn't perfect, but it is close enough that I went ahead and painted over all of the spots. I'm glad that I'm done with that!
Right when you walk into our house, there is a huge wall that I haven't decorated. I did hang two family pictures up there, but they were not big enough and didn't look right. I moved those and have been contemplating what to do with that wall. I finally decided to order a vinyl decal scripture to put up there. I am so excited to get it in the mail. I think it is going to look fabulous!
After Chloe Jo woke from her nap we tried a new recipe for Blueberry Muffins. I was given two containers of blueberries and thought they would be yummy in muffins. Chloe Jo loves helping me in the kitchen (except when I'm using a loud appliance like the mixer or blender!).
The muffins turned out as delicious as they look...
...even though the baking powder I used expired 6 years ago! HA! I guess when I cleaned out the cabinets when we moved, I missed this!
Last week I ordered an inflatable pool from Target. It was one of their daily deals so I only paid $27 with shipping for it! I came yesterday and we put it on the patio and blew it up. We couldn't play in it then so I waited until this afternoon to fill it up with water. After supper I let Chloe Jo play in it for while. She had a blast!
While she was playing, I put the leg anchors on her swing set.
While I don't love how they look, they do exactly what they are supposed to and anchor the swing set to the ground. At least it gets the job done!
I love having so many things to do during the day! My parents are coming in Thursday for a few days so tomorrow will be cleaning day.

Don't forget to enter the give-away for a $5 Amazon.com giftcard. It is going to be in the form of a code so all I'll need is an e-mail address. Only 5 people have entered so you'll have a great chance of winning!
