10 Random Things

Tag, I'm it! Chelley tagged me and now I have to write 10 random things about myself. So, here goes:

1. When I was little Chelley called me Sisa.
2. I had three Cabbage Patch Dolls. They're names were Keely Halona, Laura Wanda, and Victor Felix. They were my babies and I loved them and still do!
3. I love Christmas time.
4. My favorite season is spring when all the flowers are in bloom.
5. I was president of the band my senior year in high school.
6. When I was a sophomore, the band went to a competition and I won "Best Solo Performance" out of all the bands and soloists there!
7. I used to love Star Trek and can still quote tons of it to this day.
8. I only drink water. (except on spa days!)
9. I have moved at least 8 times in my life. Yes, that's right. 8.
10. My sis was my best friend when we were little. My sis was not my friend when we were in high school. My sis is my best friend again.

Hope someone out there learned something new about me! Until next time, happy blogging!

Add this to the "creepy things" list

So, last night Russ took me to Hobby Lobby. As you all could probably guess, this is not Russ's favorite store to go to. I went to the scrapbooking section and he left to wander around. He comes back to where I was a few minutes later and starts complaining about this psycho following him around. I kind of blew it off because Russ can get paranoid and this was just par for the course. So, we move on to look at the embossing powders and this seriously creepy dude with an angel statue in one arm and a gilded cross in the other comes to the end of the aisle and stares at us. I'm glued to the spot and am staring at the embossing powders, but not really seeing anything but Creepy Man. He then proceeds to hold up the cross at us like he is warding off vampires! He does this for a minute or two then sets the angel and cross down in the middle of the end of the aisle and waddles off. I was so creeped out that I was afraid to even leave the aisle thinking he was going to be hiding and waiting to follow us around. He totally crossed the threshold of "creepy" to "what if we are killed in a Hobby Lobby by some angel/cross-carrying maniac!" Yikes! Now, that's creepy. I'm surprised he didn't have a necklace of garlic around his neck...though Hobby Lobby was probably fresh out.

Walk MS 2008

On Saturday morning Russ, Marmie, and I participated in Walk MS 2008. We accepted $275.oo worth of donations to help fund research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis. We walked three miles for the MS Society.

On the way home from work tonight:

Me: "Are you going to leave me the car tonight?"

Russ: "Unless you want to drive the brick."

Me: "The brick?"

Russ: "Yeah, the brick."

Me: "So, it went from the buick, to the buke, to the bruick, to the bruke, to the brick?"

Russ: "It's evolution. It evolved."

Me: (thinking) Your brain evolved....backwards....

The ban has been lifted

So, we made it through three weeks without any television viewing. And you know, I don't know why we watched that much television in the first place. Personally, I can live without Top Chef, Project Runway, and Law and Order. I realize that I have much better things to do with my time than sit in front of a tv, making my eyes go square, and watching the sordid lives of Rachel Green and Lauren Conrad. So, what do I do with my time you ask??? Well, I have been working on being healthy, active, and happy! What!?!?! I can have all of those things!?!?!? No really, it's true. Here's to health and happiness! Hear! Hear!
